Meditation Monday #14

Meditation continues steadily.  Still daily, but I have switched things up a bit recently.  For the past week, I've been doing Kirtan Kriya almost exclusively.  I've done Meditation for Addiction a couple times, but I've done longer KKs most days.  It's been quite nice.  :)  Oh, and a couple times, I've done more of a guided imagery/breath meditation (without a recording), which has also been very nice.

Today is day 149 of meditating.

Meditation Monday #13

Meditation continues daily.  It has been more difficult to continue because I have been vociferously attacked with such phrases as, "If you think meditating is doing you any good, you're in fantasy land."  or, "Meditating is just a waste of time.  It's obviously not doing you any good."  The first such attack came merely moments after I experienced a major breakthrough.  Amazing.

Today is day 142 of meditating.

Meditation Monday #13

Doesn't this picture
(found at http://drbillwooten.com/2011/06/26/a-quiet-mind/)
embody "quiet mind"?

Meditation continues daily.  I've even been more successful at doing it at a routine time, for the most part.  Lately I've had some difficulties, but throughout I've felt greater peace.  I feel more quiet in my mind.  This is a huge blessing and big change for me.  I'm very glad.

Today is day 135 of meditating.  I'm pleased and somewhat amazed that I've been able to continue so long.  This is one thing I do for me.

Not every time, but often, Jmy will check on me as I'm beginning.  He'll leave after a while.  When he hears my closing song, he often returns and waits until I'm fully done.  Then he'll come up for hugs and smiles.  Sometimes he comes when I'm in Kirtan Kriya and sits quietly in my lap.  He just sits with me.  Other times, admittedly, he has done some rather pestering type things, but more often than not he either watched quietly or sits with me.  He is a super sweet little guy!

Meditation Monday #12

Meditation continues daily.  I've added a new 3 minute meditation... well, it can be up to (and only up to) 3 minutes long.  It's a meditation for releasing anger.

Lately I'll do my tune-in, then meditation for releasing anger (2-3 minutes), kirtan kriya (usually 7 minutes, but sometimes more), conquering anger meditation (I was up at 6 minutes, but I'm back down to 3 right now), calm heart meditation (3 or more), meditation for healing addictions, and finish with a tune-out song.

Today is day 128 of meditating and day 89 since the addition of the conquering anger meditation and day 4 since adding the releasing anger meditation.  I think I'm only going to track the number of days meditating from here on out....  We'll see.  :)

Meditation Monday #11

Meditation continues daily, but I did almost miss another day this past week.  I'm super glad I was able to keep this ball in the air this week, though... I desire to change my brain.

Today is day 121 of meditating and day 82 since the addition of the conquering anger meditation.

Meditation Monday #10

Meditation continues daily.  During the time my computer was down and out, I missed one day of meditating due to sheer fatigue.  I got right back 'on the horse' and have been steady there since.  Praise God for His changing power.

Today is day 114 of meditating and day 75 since the addition of the conquering anger meditation.

Actually published September 20, 2012 due to compueter brokenness.

Meditation Monday #8

Meditation contues daily.  I have had a couple days I thought I might end up not completing my meditation.  Mostly those almost misses are due to poor planning and or exhaustion.  But the Lord has carried me through.

One day my meditation session was way less than normal because of sheer exhaustion.  But I figure it sorta evens out because another session this week was significantly longer than my daily meditations have been.

Today marks my 91st day of meditating and my 63rd day since I added the conquering anger meditation!  Amazing for me, I know!  ^_^  I mean, that's more than 2 months of one and 3 months overall!  Praise the Lord for making me strong enough to keep on keeping on!!!  He is amazing!

Forgetting to Eat

So, I'm still a fluffy female.  I've not lost any significant amount of weight or anything.  But I have experienced something with increasing frequency that I truly never thought I'd live to truthfully say happened to me.

I have actually forgotten to eat.  Yes.  It's true.  And I didn't feel hungry for the forgetting, either.  In the past, I might've just not eaten, but the hunger pangs were talking to me the whole time.  Now, I do still have hunger pangs sometimes, but much less frequently than I used to.  I truly attribute this new experience to the brain changes I know are taking place as a result of meditation.  I'm sure the extended fast I did at the beginning of August could've sped things along and made a difference, too, but I think the biggest impact is due to the addiction meditation and meditating, in general.

Since the extended fast I've been trying to be more careful about mixing food and water.  Adding water right before or after eating can be super bad for those like me who have super sensitive guts.  I think the dramatic impact water can have in my digestion is because it dilutes the gastric juices that perform lots of digestive duties from the mouth to the stomach and onward.  This seems to have made a good difference (in combination with the fast itself, I'm sure).

I look forward to learning more changes in me as I progress in duration of my meditation journey.  I expect, given this change, that lots of things will improve over time - much faster than I was able to bring it to pass without this amazing tool in my life.  Praise God for His merciful leading!

Meditation Monday #7

I'm still meditating.  Amazing, I know.  I'm very pleased (in a completely devoid of pride sort of way) that I continue to be able to do this daily thing.  I give all glory to God for pushing me to do it when I just don't see the point.  There are (and I'm sure will yet be) plenty of those moments.

I do feel changes in me, but they are just so small lately... I know, in my head, it's a compounding thing and that the sum of the parts is not equal to the whole... yet it is difficult in the moment to carry on.  Surely you have had this experience about something or another that you knew was good for you... right?  I do hope I'm not the only one.
Today is day 84 of meditating.  It is also day 56 since I added in the conquering anger meditation.  I'm a little bit amazed that I've been meditating for almost 3 whole months!  Okay... I'm more than a little amazed, actually.

In thinking about this accomplishment... carried this far more by God than me, for sure, I've also realized that it's been about two years since I started holding family devotionals with my kiddos.  Can you believe it?  The beginning of that family tradition was a long-time whispered to me.  It took me far too long to be obedient... as with all too much, to be completely honest.  I'm grateful for the blessing of it.  We hold steady with one devotional per day and I still try to do two.  I asked Jessie to take over morning devotionals and, although he said he would, it has not come to fruition.  I just have a very difficult time carrying a burden I have turned over to him (that he did agree to carry).  I need to just do it ("Do It" being a frequently used catch phrase of Spencer W. Kimball's!)... and I have... but only sporadically.  It's also complicated by my extreme fatigue due to sleep issues that continue to plague me.  argghhh.  This too shall pass.  I know.

Meditation Monday #6

Meditating continues daily.  Amazingly enough!

I haven't been sticking to the outline I gave a while ago as strictly as I did for many weeks.  I still do the same meditations, almost every day (rare exceptions), but I don't do it in the same order every day.  From what I've read, this is totally normal... if I were to be able to go to a studio and be taught by an instructor, the class would do different meditations each time depending on what the instructor felt should be done.
I sometimes add one particular meditation.  It's called "Camel Ride" and feels quite nice.  I probably NEED to add "Cat, Cow" because my spine feels so tight at the lumbar area, but I haven't made the room for it in my day as yet.  I'm including "Camel Ride" below, in case you'd like to try it, too.

Today is day 77 since I began meditating.  It is also day 49 since I added the conquering anger meditation to my routine.

Meditation Monday

Meditating continues to go well, though not as strictly this past week as in weeks before.  I simultaneously conducted a fast from food for 5 days while continuing to meditate.  On the fifth day I felt so physically weak that I didn't think I could physically complete the 6 minutes that constitute the most intense parts of my series and so considered not meditating.  However, I ended up meditating in a chair that provided a tiny bit of support and I was able to complete my minmum daily goal.  YEAY!  :)

One exception this week... I got sick on Saturday (running to the potty ALL day and even more through the night) and was very very tired and weak.  I should've meditated early in the day, in which case I would've been able to complete my regular meditation.  Shoulda, woulda, coulda... anyway, I did only a calm heart meditation.  It was very short.  But I did feel better for the doing.  Still holding the coarse with daily meditation and making alterations and allowances as the day and evil thereof requires.  :)

Today is day 70 of my meditation journey.  It is also day 43 since I added the conquering anger meditation.

All in all, I highly recommend meditation for any and everyone.  It is totally working for me!  ^_^

Meditation Monday

Meditating continues to go well.  I feel mentally stronger and emotionally more steady.  These are tremendous benefits to my way of thinking.

I've had a few experiences of tingles and during 'conquering anger meditation' some of the feeling that my hands have fallen asleep.  Pretty neat.

Today is day 63 since I began meditating.  It is also day 36 since I began with the conquering anger meditation.  Interesting on those numbers, eh?  Inverted.

Meditation Monday: July 30, 2012

So, last Monday, just because it's the way things worked out, I meditated three times.  Two times on Tuesday and back to what has been my normal of meditation once each day.

It's good.  I still continue to be me with my problems, but it's better than it used to be.  :)

Today is day 56 of my meditation journey, generally.  It is also day 29 of cam meditating.
