Prophet

Did you know there are many prophets and prophetesses?  It's true.  Moses told us that we should welcome such and be glad for them.  Search it out.  It's pretty plain.
What does a prophet do?  Prophets testify of Christ.  I know that prophets are often able to see how things come together because they seek the best gifts (spiritual).  Among the many spiritual gifts there is the ability to see and foresee how things will play out.

I testify of Christ.

I have seen how many things were going to transpire and are.

A few years ago, I mentioned to someone that psychological profiles and notes taken by psychologists and psychiatrists would be used to confiscate weapons and detain.  Did you know the first has come to pass?  It's true.  You won't have to search long for the information.  It's happened and happening in New York.

I told someone about this knowledge... that I could see that this would happen.  I was called crazy and told it never would because of Hippa, the Constitution... whatever.  I was told I was wrong and it would N.E.V.E.R. happen.

Do you think I enjoy being right about this?

You do not know me if you think I do.  Vindication is not sweet, my friend.  This is the second time in a short period of time that my ability to see what others refuse to (or cannot?) see has been vindicated much to my GREAT sorrow.

Did you know there is a Prophet on the earth today?  You know... one much like Moses or Elijah or any of the others.  It's true.  I encourage you to find out for yourself if what I say (any of the above) is actually true.  Don't take my word for it.  Just don't call me crazy until you know for sure that I'm wrong.  Seriously.

On Obedience

This post has been a few weeks in the making.  Probably longer, really... but a few weeks ago i read a post on the blog of a woman in my Ward (church group).  There are many things i greatly admire about this particular woman, i am glad, as with almost all the women in my church, to call her Sister.  She has some very different perspectives and political positions from me, but, for the most part, i really respect her.

Unfortunately, my respect did diminish slightly when i read the post about which i'm thinking and have been pondering.  My concern is for her, a little... mostly, though, i feel greater concern for/that any youth in our Ward or the Church at large may find her blog, admire her, read this particular post and then make wrong and detrimentally life changing choices as a result of her and their admiration of her and potential acceptance of her ideas (particularly the one about which i'm thinking and preparing to write about now).

My blog is not popular or well visited, for the most part, so i'm relatively certain that she does not read here, but if she does (you do), please forgive any offense.  Truly, my intention is not to offend or pass judgement or be mean or anything like that.  My hope is to correct in love - but not necessarily the Sister (you?) who wrote the blog, but more specifically: the ideas presented therein.  It seems unlikely that anyone who reads her (your) blog would also read mine, but i rather hope that if there are any youth that read hers, they will also stumble upon this particular post.

The topic of this post is rated R movies.

This is the topic my Sister addressed in her blog.  It saddens me to say that i almost desperately disagree with the dangerous position she presented, which is, basically, that she's smart enough to ignore our Leaders' direction, suggestion, warning... that we should NOT watch rated R movies.  This direction is not age specific.  I do believe the warning pertains to all members of the LDS Church.

One thing i know is that the R rating currently is much worse than it was years ago.  When the Leaders of my Church began to warn against viewing movies of this rating, the contents were bad enough, but as our society descends ever farther and faster into thinking and practicing evil ways as a matter of course, the rating goes right along with it.  Today, PG-13 is comparable to the rated R of years ago.

Confession.  I am ashamed to say that i went against a decision i made when i began to attend church again to avoid rated R movies and watched one a few months ago.  Another confession: while away from the Church, i was exposed to pornography.  These two confessions come together because there was nothing soft about a particularly graphic scene that was also pornographic in the rated R movie i watched.  My regret over having this particular scene now in my mind with all the other crud i have there available for replay at completely inappropriate times, is tremendous.  The movie was neat... but to me, at this time in my life and Spiritual progression, it is and was not worth the price i pay.

Perhaps the Sister whose blog i keep referencing doesn't have such a brain as mine.  A brain that has such issues with images and recall (especially the random remembrances).  But i believe there will be someone who does who is or will be influenced to do what will harm them by her position, which is put and argued eloquently (as is basically all of her writing).   Perhaps watching the movie to which i refer would not be a trouble or a harm to this particular Sister... but that doesn't mean the choice to watch it is right.  Disregard of direction is still a form of disobedience, isn't it?

Bad stuff is still bad stuff regardless of how the world may esteem it.  My position and arguement is not cool.  It's not popular.  It's not pleasing unto the eyes and minds of men.  But i truly believe it is what the Lord would prefer for us.  He has our VERY best interests at heart.  He wants only the best for us.  If we ingest poison - whether into our body or mind - it will harm us eventually.

While watching the rated-R movie i confessed about above, i was very uncomfortable sitting alone during the pornographic scene. Given my recent history and experiences, i would have probably violently turned the movie off and run away crying if i'd watched it with my husband. As it is, it sickens me to know he saw it at another time.  If my Savior had been visible to me, sitting next to me as i watched that movie, i would have been VERY uncomfortable to watch the pornographic scene.  Who am i kidding?  i would've never turned it on if he was visibly next to me!  (Thus my guilt over my wrong choice.)  The most important of these discomforts is how i would feel watching it with Jesus Christ, of course.  I should not have done it.  Knowing this (and i really knew it before i watched), i yearn to "preach it" to others... that YOU may avoid the guilt and necessary repentance and that you may completely avoid the potential replays you'd not prefer to have in your head.

Please be wise!

As Elder Sorensen said in 'You Can't Pet a Rattlesnake' back in a April 2001 General Conference address, "Don’t allow the poison to touch your souls, brethren. Remember, “He that is righteous is favored of God."  Those words, 'brethren' and 'he,' by the way, are as readily applicable to women as men.  It's universal in the context of the talk even though he was speaking to men... it's not just for the Brothers of the church and/or world.

i pray you will receive this in the Spirit in which i have written it.  Love.

Much Ado About Faith

Just because the culture of our day
says it's a-okay
doesn't mean it really is.
For it's all just part of the biz.
The business of sin
where no one does win.

Just because the majority accept it as all-right
doesn't mean righteousness should go down without a fight#.
They say those who stand up for what they believe
are haters, bigots, nuts, and more than I can conceive.
Even though my heart feels absolutely no hate,
they call out these words and continue to berate.

Just because those who believe strongly enough to stand firm
refuse to back down and accept wrong made into a new term.
For they strive to make wrong into right.
Yet they cannot see what they do, for it's out of their sight.
Spiritual eyes wide shut against truth and God's Way.
In the future not far hence, this will be as past issues are now, so they say.

Yet truth is and will always, truth, be.
And God is the same from times past and into eternity.
For one eternal round really means what it means.
And though evil would like to rip truth at it's seams,
God will always conquer and win the day.
Whether evil says no, or, "Yes, you may."

Thankfully, our God is Love
and tolerates so much foolishness there, up above.
And will tolerate ever so much more
until Christ's return and what comes before.
Until then it'll get worse until all things align,
but that doesn't mean it will be steady decline.

For you see, the program allows for lots of change
His return will certainly happen within a definite range.
But innumerable factors can alter
the course of time and yet cause not a falter*.
Which is why only God, the Father, knows
when Christ shall appear once more, so it goes.

For He, our Father God, is the most amazing author of a book.
Who sits down and makes a plan for his story somewhere in a nook.
He knows the end from the beginning
the ones that make us frown and those that leave us grinning.
If you've ever heard an author speak who was inspired,
they were surprised by some character or another's  actions unrequired.

A character seemed to take over the show.
To write its own story, don't you know.
But though the character may seem to have gotten away,
in the end, the author's purposes they inherently obey.
That's how we can change things, too.
By action or inaction, it's up to me and you.

The day is not set.
But ever so real is the threat.
Impending doom
over us does loom.
Nazis are nothings compared
we must all become prepared.

Changes are necessary to be made.
They cannot be a moment delayed.
"What changes?" I hear you ask.
The answer is quite a task.
For no one likes to not belong.
Yet I know right is right, not wrong.

And so I must now declare the truth:
Repent now whether an adult or in your youth.
Repent ye and turn from your wicked ways.
Before the beginning of the true end of days.
For the seven year tribulation is not yet begun
and as of now, we can yet, it, outrun.

Or, at least it might thus seem so.
For by righteousness we can slow
the ticking of the celestial clock.
I'm serious here, do not mock.
We can lengthen out the days
by turning once more to belief in His Ways.

Believe in God and declare it.
Say it straight, or with witt.
Stand tall and imoveable in righteousness,
do not ignore the call and become useless.
Turn to God with full purpose of heart.
Learn and then fully do your part.

He has a purpose for you.
Certainly you know it's true.
Learn and strengthen your faith in His Word.
Join this new and everlasting herd.
For we are His sheep.
And the good Shepherd does, us, always keep.

Be ye Baptised who will bear the name of our God.
If ye are willing to bear one another's burdens, don't just nod.
Go ahead and do it, commit and take the plunge.
Learn of His love, accept it, absorb it like a sponge.
Then shine it forth until all the nations.
Become one of God's Love Light stations.

Like a power generator of sorts.
It's an awesome rush, by all reports.
But it takes Faith, Hope, and Charity.
The three together within one human is a rarity.
But by trusting God and turning fully to Him,
He'll fill you full, right up to the brim.

Oh, baptism and the laying on of hands
by those in authority is one of God's commands.
Where to find it, one might wonder, I know.
You'll have to take a seat before, your mind, I blow.
It's found in the form of one church on this earth.
It's been here since before your birth.

The Church of Jesus Christ is a part of its name.
of Latter-Day Saints (that's the end), one and the same.
It's got the most truth, don't you know.
It took me a while, but I testify it's so.
Pray for yourself, don't trust me!
God will answer, just you wait and see.

Once you know for yourself the truth that I've shared,
You'll realize how much of myself I have, here, bared.
And the concern and the worries I've felt in the doing.
But I feel compelled of the Lord to put it out there for viewing.
In hopes and with faith that the Lord can use me in my weakness.
For all that's good in me is Christ, I say in all meekness.

Let us unite in His wondrous name.
Stop calling out what is not my blame.
I do not hate simply because I stand by my Faith.
The accusation of such hangs in my heart like a wraith.
Join me in Love and standing for truth and right.
God will ever supports us with His might.

*falter: noun: the act of pausing uncertainly, verb: be unsure or weak

#by "fight" I do not mean actively fighting with physical punches or weapons, but, rather, I mean firmly standing against the onslaught of that which is wrong.
